The PAE cohorts will explore the worlds of theatre, dance, and music in this 12-week session for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Emphasis will be placed on the performing arts in the United States, however, a brief overview of some of the influences and origins of dance and music outside of the US will be given. Students will engage in acting, dance, and singing throughout the course. Techniques to improve these skills will be provided in a safe and fun environment with an eye on adhering to state standards for the arts. Common core standards for each grade will also be incorporated. Students will be encouraged to use their imaginations and get as creative as their minds and bodies will allow. Each individual should complete the course with a sense of accomplishment and an immense joy for the performing arts. Cohorts begin the week of August 24, 2020.
